Our mission is to deepen and grow the Ridgway Pickleball community. We are an inclusive, cooperative, welcoming club that comes together for sport and the game of pickleball.
The Town of Ridgway approves the Athletic Park Master plan that includes eight dedicated Pickleball courts!
Beginning in August 2022, the RPC began petitioning the Town of Ridgway to build permanent pickleball courts by presenting a detailed written proposal and participating in many meetings involving Ridgway’s Parks committee and the Ridgway Town Council, which resulted in the launch of a Master Planning Process to determine a final plan. The process took place throughout 2023, and our club was very engaged and participated in interviews with design consultants, town council meetings, and multiple public meetings. We voiced our opinion by showing up and submitting our public comments, and the Town listened!
In December 2023, the Town Council approved the Master Plan, which has multiple development phases. You can see all the details here.
We are currently working with the Town to raise money through private donations and grants to make the plans a reality.
The RPC, which is a 501c3 tax-exempt entity, is actively raising money toward getting these courts built.
Please donate to support our efforts to build dedicated pickleball courts in Ridgway.
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, appealing to all age groups and all skill levels. The rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to learn. It appeals to those just wanting to enjoy a fun, healthy social interaction and those looking for a fast-paced, competitive challenge.
The Ridgway Pickleball Club has been active in Ridgway since 2015. Over the years, the club has grown to more than 200+ members, bolstered by many visitors brought to the area by the opportunity to enjoy pickleball while experiencing the beauty and recreational adventures the surrounding area provides.
We offer free introductory lessons and loaner paddles for beginners and provide skill development clinics for the more experienced players looking to improve their game. We invite you to join our group as a member, a sponsor, or a friend and learn to enjoy the fastest-growing sport in America.
Currently, the club plays on seven shared-use temporary courts in our Athletic Park. The club is in the early stages of working with the Town of Ridgway to construct eight permanent, dedicated outdoor pickleball courts. We have kicked off our fundraising campaign to raise funds for the construction of these courts.
This new facility will include individually fenced courts with windscreens, bleachers, and shade structures. It will be a premier facility for the enjoyment of the local community and pickleball enthusiasts on the Western Slope and visitors from all locations.
We would appreciate your financial support as we work toward our construction fund goal of $500,000.
