Welcome to the 4th Annual San Juan Slam, a Western Slope regional pickleball tournament hosted by the Ridgway Pickleball Club (RPC) with Presenting/Title Sponsor Citizen's State Bank. The San Juan Slam takes place at the town's Athletic Field from September 18-20 in historic and beautiful Ridgway, Colorado. There will be three days of competition, Sept. 18 Women's Doubles, Sept. 19 Mixed Doubles, and Sept. 20 Men's Doubles. This year's tournament will follow a Team Round-Robin pool play format with medal rounds at every skill and age level, providing participants plenty of gameplay. Brackets will include 3.5 and under, 4.0+ levels for all divisions. Based on prior year feedback, we are adding age divisions (under/over 50) in each event but we reserve the right to combine the age brackets based on the number of registrants. We will have T-shirts and light snacks on site. The "Dogs of the San Juan Slam" will also be going on so bring your pet with your (on a leash please) and get your picture taken. There will be prizes for the cutest pups!

Women's Doubles Skill levels 3.5, 4.0+ - Friday, September 18 - 50+/- age divisions

Mixed Doubles Skill levels 3.5, 4.0+ - Saturday, September 19 - 50+/- age divisions

Men's Doubles Skill levels 3.5, 4.0+ - Sunday, September 20 - 50+/- age divisions

Tournament Fees: $55 for each participant and includes registration for one event and $5 for up to 2 events. There is an additional $5 service fee per event that goes to Pickleball Brackets.

Tournament Playing Surface: We will only be playing on the tennis courts this year with portable SwiftNets and using Selkirk balls. The cement courts will be available for warmup.

We will be using DUPR ratings for this tournament to determine skill levels. If you don't have a DUPR rating, please create one at DUPR.com and self rate. Teams must play at the skill level of the highest skill level player on the team. This is a team event, each player must register separately and list your partner or indicate that you need a partner.

Participants are required to be at least 8 years old by December 31, 2026. For age brackets, your age is determined as of December 31, 2026. Teams must play at the age division of the youngest player on the team. You may play down in age divisions. i.e. a team of 55 yr olds may play in the under 50 division but a team of 40 yr olds may not play up in age divisions.

Bracket slots will be filled with the first teams to have BOTH players registered and paid. Listed partners of players who are registered will have 5 days to register to hold their slot. If a player registers for an event and their partner does not register within 5 days, then the original registered player is moved to the waiting list. If your teammate then registers and there is still room in the event, then both are moved from the waiting list and into the event. Each player must register individually. Once the bracket is full, incomplete teams, teams not fully paid, and additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisted individuals/teams will be notified in the order in which they registered as space becomes available.

Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers in each skill bracket.

*The Tournament Chairman reserves the right to modify the event format as needed based on the registrations. Events may be split or merged as needed based on registration numbers.

By completing your registration, you agree to release and discharge the Ridgway Pickleball Club/Tournament Committee and the Town of Ridgway from any and all actions, causes of action , claims and demands for, upon by reason of any damage, loss, personal injury or death which may result from or in connection with your participation of any nature in the San Juan Slam Pickleball Tournament. You understand that this release is binding upon you, your assignees and your personal representative and/or heirs.
